Britain has a number of beautiful nude beaches in idyllic locations. This is not one of them. This beach is situated next to a gritty industrial complex, and you are likely to have an "Is is okay to be here?" moment as you approach the beach since it feels as though you are entering a restricted work area. Despite the surroundings, the beach is popular, with the 50 or so parking spaces often full. (Parking is restricted except for these designated spaces, so if they are full you'll need to look for parking at Hove Lagoon or nearby and walk.) The wall behind the beach blocks the unsightly surroundings as well as the noise. The red line shows the length of the beach, which corresponds to the length of the wall. Brighton naturists tend to prefer this beach, which is off the tourist radar, to much-maligned East Beach located about 4.5 miles to the east.
