The long beach between Asnelles and Ver-sur-Mer is the beach the Allies code-named "Gold Beach" during the World War II invasion of Normandy.

Over 60 years later, the remote middle part of this beach is frequented by nudists. However, most nude sunbathing seems to take place in the dunes.

While the nude area is most quickly accessed by a small spur road off D514, the road is rough (and we have not pinpointed it). The beach is best accessed from either end, through Asnelles or Ver-sur-Mer. Either way, the walk to the nude area is about a kilometer.
