There is a long history of skinnydipping in the Westfield River near Knightville Dam, but the area, which is part of an Army Corps of Engineers nature preserve, does not seem to be as heavily visited by nudists as it has been in the past. There is a deep pool in the river near the parking area, but local custom seems to dictate that swimsuits are appropriate there. However, farther upstream there is another deep pool, and skinnydipping is well established here. You may have this place all to yourself. There are areas of sand along the river where you can sunbathe nude.

The restricted part of the road that continues beyond the parking area continues upstream along the river for miles and is often used by joggers and cyclists. Follow this road to explore secluded areas farther away if you're so inclined.

This site is just 15 miles from the nude beach at Cummington and draws relatively few nude visitors compared to the Cummington beach. However, it is a great place to go if you'd like to skinnydip in a quiet, peaceful area. There are no stores nearby, so come prepared. Insects can be pesky, so bring repellent. The area closes at dusk.
