Grandview Nature Preserve at the mouth of Chesapeake Bay has a sandy beach that stretches over two miles, backed by a marsh and accessible only from the south end. The south end of the beach abuts a residential area, but the beach is undeveloped with no parking lot, which limits the number of visitors. Such conditions of seclusion are ideal for a nude beach, and indeed the remote northern half of Grandview Beach has historically been frequented by nudists.

Unfortunately, nudity at Grandview has diminished drastically over the past decade as authorities have become hostile towards nudists, possibly acting on complaints from nearby residents. Cops on ATV's patrol the beach, and those caught naked will be ticketed and possibly even arrested. However, the beach is so large that you should have plenty of warning as long as you always keep a covering handy. Police are reported to patrol regularly during summer months but slack off at other times, so nudity may be a bit safer on warm spring and autumn days. You're likely to encounter just a few other bare bathers at any given time, and sometimes there's no on else on the north end of the beach at all, nude or otherwise.
