2222 Beach, located just a few blocks east of Natural Bridges State Beach, is a small beach cove beneath a steep cliff in a seaside residential area of Santa Cruz. The beach takes its name from a street number; it is across the street from the house at 2222 West Cliff Drive. Even though the beach is visible from passersby walking atop the cliff, no one seems to take offense at the bare bodies below as the beach has long seen hassle-free nude use. The paths down to the beach are steep. You need to be in good shape to get to the bottom. This tiny beach has room for a few dozen at most, but usually there are just a handful of visitors, most of them naked. The crowd is youthful and mostly local.
