Baker Beach has one of the best views of any beach—nude or otherwise—in the world. As you bask naked in the sun, you have an excellent, up-close view of the Golden Gate Bridge. Fog and cool winds can inhibit enjoyment of this beautiful area even in summer months. However, on hot summer days, the north end of Baker Beach can be strewn with upwards of 500 naked bodies. Smaller crowds gather even on days when the weather isn't so great. Baker Beach is part of Golden Gate National Recreation Area, whose administrators freely tolerate nudity here.
Be sure not to disrobe on the south end of the beach; nudity is customary on the north end only. Swimming is permitted, but the water is cold and can be dangerous at times. Baker Beach attracts all kinds of people, with the majority of users choosing the option of being nude. This beach is one of the most popular nude beaches in the Bay Area. Be sure to abide by posted parking regulations to avoid getting a parking ticket.
A rocky outcropping separates the north end of Baker Beach from a less-accessible beach known as Golden Gate Bridge Beach (GGBB) that is even closer to the bridge. Trying to get from one beach to the other at sea level is dangerous.
