RCA Beach and Bass Lake are nearby locations that get some nude use, although neither is among the better established nudist venues in Marin County. Both are located just north of the small town of Bolinas at the far southern end of Point Reyes National Seashore, and these locations are roughly 25 miles northwest of the Golden Gate Bridge by car. A challenge to finding these sites is that the turnoff to Bolinas is not marked. Locals are notorious for removing the signs pointing the way to Bolinas from the highway, and it seems the state highway department may have just given up on trying to put up signs. Bolinas residents are protective of their little slice of California's wondrous coastline, and they are just eccentric and cantankerous enough to commit petty larceny in their quest to keep out the tourist riffraff. With good directions, you can find the way.

RCA Beach refers to a stretch of beach that extends over a mile at the base of plateau that is just north of Bolinas. A Coast Guard facility with a field of radio transmission towers occupies part of the plateau, and since the RCA Corporation put up the towers, the beach has for many years been colloquially known as RCA Beach. This beach is basically a de facto nude beach not because it draws throngs of nudists but because it draws no throngs as all. The beach is located beneath a steep cliff with limited points of access. How to get down to the beach or even where to park is not obvious, and there are no signs. Thus, RCA is always a mostly empty beach where you may find only a dozen people in the span of a mile. Of the relatively few visitors this beach gets, most go nude, and there is always ample room to spread out. The directions below lead you to the far southern end of RCA Beach. From there, you can walk north for over 2 miles before you reach the Palomarin Beach Trail (drawn in orange for reference), which is the next definitely safe point of access you will reach. The few other trails down to RCA are questionable. If you make it all the way down to the Palomarin Beach Trail, you will no longer be on what is considered RCA Beach but will rather be on adjacent Palomarin Beach, where the beach goes on and on and the cliffs seem to get higher and higher. That part of the beach also has nudist potential, as do many of the remote and hard-to-reach beaches of Point Reyes.
