Unofficial nude beach. See photos we have posted. We 'discovered' this place during Covid lockdown when we could not travel to our usual nude beaches (Point Impossible, Bells Beach Southside, Point Addis). Although close to suburbia it can often be very quiet and secluded, particularly after the day visitors have left. The beach extends from the Old Homestead towards Point Cooke and then around towards Skeleton Creek and Altona. The area is also a Marine Sanctuary and great for snorkelling - no boats or fishing allowed. It is a great place to observe plentiful bird and marine life. It is managed by Parks Victoria. The access gate into the Park (from the Old Homestead Road) closes at 5pm so no one can enter after that but people inside can still leave at any time. The beach is narrow and sandy, the water shallow and safe for swimming. The beach is backed by secluded bushland which provides ample opportunity to indulge in discrete sexual behaviour. There have been times when we have walked around (in the nude) for an hour or so without seeing anyone, although we always carry a sarong should we happen to meet any textiles. We have even walked around the Old Homestead in the nude and sat at one of the picnic tables. This is a great place for enjoying a summers day or evening in the nude alone or with like-minded friends. NB This is not to be confused with the now-defunct Cambell's Cove, which is nearby.
