Samurai Beach is a legally nude beach located near Anna Bay on the south side of the Tomaree Peninsula in the Port Stephens area. The beach is about 50 kilometers northeast of Newcastle and 200 kilometers northeast of Sydney. Samurai is within Tomaree National Park, and it is sometimes also known as North One Mile Beach. Samurai is a hidden beach, with rocky outcroppings at both ends, but it is not a typical little secluded nude beach cove. Samurai is a huge, broad, sandy beach with an extensive field of low sand dunes. The beach stretches a full kilometer, and the entire length of it is open to nude use. There is ample open space here, and this beach is big enough to host the Samurai Beach Nude Carnival that takes place each November and draws upwards of 1,000 people. At other times, the beach is well attended but not so crowded. Just about everyone goes naked.

Parked cars and pitched tents are common sights on Samurai. If your vehicle can handle a very rough track, you can drive all the way to Samurai and park on the sand. Many visitors camp out on the beach. (But be advised there are no amenities at all.) If you don't have a four-wheel-drive vehicle, you can park next to neighboring One Mile Beach and walk in (just over a kilometer).
