Sankt Peter-Ording is a popular spa resort town that is located at the southwestern end of a landmass called the Eiderstedt peninsula. The main beach associated with the town is located on the north side of town in the subsidiary area called Ording.

This enormous west-facing beach is a tidal flat that is over 500 meters wide in many places, and an unusual feature of the beach is that visitors park on the compacted sand. The immense, unpaved, triangular parking area spans 800 meters from south to north. Next to the parking area, there are several buildings on stilts that line the beach. These buildings house cafés and sanitary facilities. The part of the beach next to these buildings is textile. Facing the sea, go right and you will reach the FKK area a short distance past the last of the buildings and the small playground. The walk to the FKK area will be just a few hundred meters if you are able to park at the extreme northwest corner of the parking lot. From the start of the FKK area, nudity is possible going north about 2.5 kilometers to the end of the beach at a shallow estuary.
