Pellworm is among the North Frisian cluster of islands, and it is reached by ferry from the mainland. Unlike some of the other islands, Pellworm is contained entirely within the tidal marsh area, and thus it has no sandy beaches. The beach areas on the island are grassy lawns that overlook the mudflats. One of these grassy beaches is designated as FKK. The FKK beach is in Nordermühle, which is just a locality, not an actual village or town. Nordermühle is easily identifiable by the large windmill that sits next to the main road that makes a loop around the island.

The FKK beach at Nordermühle is relatively minor compared to other North Frisian FKK beaches. The beaches of Sylt and Amrum are much more renowned.

GETTING THERE / PARKING:

Adler-Schiffe operates automobile ferry service from Nordstrand on the mainland to the southeast side of Pellworm. The ferry dock is near the neighboring villages of Ostersiel and Tammensiel. L97 is the highway that makes a loop around the periphery of the island. When you leave the ferry dock, keep straight ahead and you will be filtered onto L97 going north through Ostersiel and Tammensiel. Once you are on L97, follow it north and west for 4.4 kilometers, at which point you will reach a prominent windmill that is very close to the highway. Turn right onto Norderhaffdeich, which is the side road that is immediately before the windmill. Follow Norderhaffdeich north 500 meters to a parking lot on the right. The lot is at coordinates 54.5431, 8.6413 (Map It). Go to the beach and walk back toward the windmill to find the FKK area.
