Binz is the largest of the resort towns on the island of Rügen. It is situated at the far south end of a long bay that stretches about 10 kilometers. The beach of Binz is about 3 kilometers long, and there are FKK areas at both ends.

This placemark pinpoints the northern of the two FKK zones, which occupies a stretch of a few hundred meters near the northern edge of Binz toward Prora (a complex of huge, drab buildings that was planned as a resort in the 1930's but never used as such). This FKK zone is behind the large Seehotel Binz-Therme Rügen campus of buildings, and it is about 2 kilometers north of the pier that is a prominent landmark in the heart of Binz.

There is also an FKK area at the southern end of Binz that begins about 700 meters south of the pier, just past the last beachfront structure. Although it is closer to the town center, the southern FKK zone is less popular and not as highly regarded as the northern FKK zone. Furthermore, parking is more plentiful at the northern zone.
