ADDING YOUR PLACE instructions
By clothes_suck, Sep 8, 2023
Thank you for choosing to share your special nudist place with the rest of us here on Nudist Compass.
The instructions that follow will help you to add your place in a way that's both useful and error-free.
- Click on the account icon found at the top left of your screen.
- Select 'Add Your Place' from the drop-down menu.
- On the screen that appears, you will see a map. The pin in the map depicts the place where you are sitting right now. If you are in the spot that you are attempting to add to the site, --- perfect!
- If you are somewhere else, maybe adding the site from home after a wonderful vacation, the map pin will be in the wrong place. You probably don't want hordes of other users trying to tan at your house. So drag the map until you can get the spot marked perfectly for the place you are adding. You can squeeze the map with your fingers to zoom out and find a completely different area of the world. This takes a bit of patience but is very important.
- NAME field: The next item is a name for your place. This is what other users will see first. Please use the actual name that can be found on Google Maps if at all possible. Spell it correctly. You can cut and paste if you have trouble with your keyboard. If it's not listed on Google Maps or has a different name that is more helpful, please be clear and descriptive in putting the name. Remember, it's a title, so capitalize each word.
- CATAGORY field: Here, you are offered a drop-down choice of various categories. Choose the most accurate one for the place you are adding. Your home or backyard is not a nude beach. It is a private place. Unless, of course, you actually live on a nude beach. That would be freaking awesome. Smile.
- ADDRESS: This field will probably be filled in by the app itself. However, you may find that the address that's filled in is not very helpful for others attempting to get there. It's much better to have a street address or some place that can be put into a GPS or Google Maps. If you can correct or improve the address, do so. NOTE: The address field is not for detailed directions. Those will go into the next field: Description.
- DESCRIPTION: This field is very important, and it's where you get to be creative and share your joy of the place you are adding. The best listings are full descriptions of what to expect, any dangers, times of day that are best, what kinds of people frequent the place, detailed directions for getting down there from the parking area Etc. Please share anything you especially love about this naked place. There is no length limit, and you can also share websites that offer full descriptions and paste in especially good info from elsewhere on the Web.
UPDATE / EDIT A PREVIOUSLY ADDED PLACE
So, you realize that your first attempt at adding a place was kind of a failure. That's no problem because you can edit that place and change everything that you did wrong. Also, things change over time, and you may need to update the place with new information. How do you do this? Read on.
- First, find your place on Nudist Compass > Places.
- Now, scroll to the very bottom on your place's page. And find where it says 'Update place'. Click on it. Only the user who added the place in the first place can update it. And that's you. So cheers!
- A screen will appear much like the one where you originally added your place. You will have the opportunity to correct map pin placement, place name, the address, category, and add to, delete from, or improve your description.
- When satisfied with your work and feeling finished, click the "Update place" bar at the bottom of this screen to save your work and see your improved masterpiece.
DELETING YOUR PLACE
It happens. Nudist places become textile only, go out of business, or you can no longer recommend a place. Maybe you accidentally added a place, and it's time to clean up the site and delete it. No problem! Here's how:
- First, find your place on Nudist Compass > Places.
- Now, scroll to the very bottom on your place's page. And find where it says 'Delete place'.
- Click on it. Only the user who added the place in the first place can delete it.
- you will be asked, "Do you want to delete this place?"
- Press YES.
- Unfortunately, the app will not allow you to remove a place if other users have already commented on it. If you're the only one who has made comments, you can remove them easily by clicking the little X you see at the bottom of your comment. But if the site has become undeletable, then simply contact Nick, the website owner, and ask him to delete it. [For more information, questions, comments, bug reports please contact Nick at that.beyond@gmail.com.] It's helpful if you supply the exact name of your place or use the web version and give him the address of the place page. He is very responsive.
